Outdoor Acacia With Polyurethane Finish

• Exterior Polyurethane finishes require moderate levels of maintenance (as a guide, every 6 months, but can vary depending on your climate, outdoor conditions, and if the furniture is left continuously in direct weather).
• As soon as you see a chalky film start to develop on your product, it’s time to complete some maintenance and freshen the finish with a fresh PU application.
• Exterior Polyurethanes are available from all major hardware stores, always follow the application process on the product.
• Exterior PU finishes are applied with a natural bristle brush in multiple coats. Sanding the hardened varnish lightly between each coat.
• Simply sand the topcoat smooth, and apply a new coat of varnish.
• Don’t put this important maintenance step off too long or cracks will develop in the finish allowing moisture to penetrate and degrade the wood.
